DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BOOK if you have more than 1 year of Interview/Interrogation experience. Where to begin? The author, Daniel Marsano, seems to have the background for this type of work, but you won’t find any of those details in this effort. You have to go to his personal website to find any information about him. Next, the book itself really should have been a pamphlet. In order to make it “book” size, a large font, 1.5 line spacing, and double spacing between paragraphs is utilized. This, in addition to chapters that average only 2 to 3 pages, build this to book size. Also, juvenile artwork is repeated frequently throughout this work. Jane Stroschin’s art presentations are good, but they are misplaced in a book with the subtitle “An Analytical Approach to the Interview Process.” This book had promise, but it fell short … way short. And considering what amount many people are paying for this book … way, WAY short! My recommendation for a more professional, detailed, and results oriented approach to this topic is “Investigative Discourse Analysis” by Don Rabon.

  • In Search of Truth is a well written, easy to understand, splendid piece of literature. The book is the perfect compliment to Daniel’s seminars. I have been fortunate enough to not only read his book, but see him speak in person. His charisma and experience translate well onto the pages of his book. It is easy to see why he resonates with such a diverse audience including lawyers, public officials, insurance companies and me, a health care worker. I find myself using his techniques both professionally and personally. I am glad to see that Daniel has published a paperback version of the book, which makes it a lot easier for me carry it around in my briefcase. The best part about this book is that it’s something I can actually use. If you want a straight forward, easy to follow interviewing technique book that you can actually use then I would recommend this wholeheartedly!
