THIS BOOK WORKS/HELPS!!

Several of the questions on my interview were almost verbatim from this book. Having no previous fire service experience to draw from, this book gave me some insight into firehouse “psychology.” I did very well on my interview and was hired on.

After reading this book cover to cover about 4 times in the month preceeding my interview, I feel it gave me an edge on the questions and what the interviewers were looking for.

I recommended this book to another candidate and he was hired also about a year later into our department.

If you are serious about a career in the fire service, pick up this book along with “smoke your firefighter exam”! These books will get you to where you want to be.

Very good book. Thoughtful and insightful. Really makes a lot of sense on the questions. Some questions and answers are a little vauge or repititive but for the most part I thought the author did a good job of exlpaining his actions and answers.

I’ve purchased this book and also purchased books from other authors. The books by other authors are full of filler information that does not really tell you how or why to answer a specific oral board question. Paul is very clear about how and why you respond to certain answers in an oral board review. The only thing better than this book is Paul Lepore’s private interview coaching.

This book was exactly what I was looking for and needed. It gave me the insight I needed to answer the questions in my interviews. I recommend to all persons interested in going through the Fire Fighter application process to read this book and get an understanding of what they are looking for from the candidates.
